I don’t know about ya’ll, but I love me a good margarita. It is such a refreshing treat after a long day. I discovered this whole fruit margarita when I first got my @vitamix & it is everything! I am not the biggest drinker as alcohol does not always settle well with my stomach (and I usually go for the sweet stuff 😏), but this recipe has just the right balance of sweetness, tanginess, and tequila to it. Not only is it such a simple recipe, but it is literally made out of whole fruit which helps give it its natural sweetness and tang without the added sugar that can make you feel not the greatest. Additionally, when you do add a little sweetness, it is from agave which is a far less processed sugar that is not overly sweet and adds just enough to complete the drink.
Now let’s talk nutrition. You’re probably like “What nutrition could possibly come out of an alcoholic drink? That’s not my concern when drinking.” Well true, that should not be your concern as it’s often paired with good times and that should be the focus. Although, knowing that there’s some sort of nutritional benefit coming out of it gives me some peace of mind.
1) You’re getting loads of vitamins & flavonoids, especially Vit. C from the whole citrus fruits.
2) By using the whole fruit, you keep the fiber which helps with normalizing blood sugar, cholesterol, and gut health.
3) Lastly, my favorite, Tequila is a probiotic! Yes, tequila comes from the blue agave plant that can help enhance gut bacteria.
